When We Pull Back The Curtain We See The Wins and The Work Still Needed

When we pull back the curtain the truth is exposed. This sudden epiphany, this "aha moment" can startle us. It can shake our conviction to the bone if we allow it. Or...or it can shake our conviction into a resolute determined strength, just as concrete provides lasting support. But only after important ingredients are combined, mixed, maybe even shaken up to create a solid foundation.

I'm betting some of our regular readers caught on to the common thread running through the consecutive pages we posted last week. The links are in the callout box, just below.

That common thread showcases some amazing accomplishments from our nation's history. That they all came from a demographic often marginalized, even targeted is point two. Point one is that our nation offers the opportunity for success. No guarantee, just the opportunity.

When we pull back the curtain, that epiphany reveals a peculiar sort of cabal. Those amazing accomplishments are too often discounted if not hidden because of the empty falsehoods of supposedly opposite syndicates. Our advantage in bringing the truth to light with our work in removing the veil shows a clear reality.

"We've Looked At Fear From Both Sides Now"

Both extremists sides who dispute, disparage, or disavow those remarkable accomplishments, do so because it shows the weakness in their entrenched agendas. Neither camp wants the albatross of truth slung around their necks. It would reveal their true intentions. That albatross would surely sink their selfish motives. Dealing in facts is the bane of every extremist as well as every con artist. When we pull back the curtain we expose their fear of facts.

On one side, we have the timid, weak façade of these twin gangs who cling to long ago discredited vile that suggests certain groups, races, and assigned value segments of society have no place in America.

Stories like the three we highlighted last week that are parts of our national legacy, scare the daylights out of them to the point of deep angst where stoking violence is their favorite recourse. It absolves them of responsibility. They don't want to put in the work of Thomas Sowell, Vivian Thomas, Katherine Johnson, or the many members  of the Freedom Riders. They prefer to ride the coat tails of their perceived entitled status.

The other extreme carries similar disdain for these stories. Yes, they have to be careful not to be overly dismissive of two of them, but Thomas Sowell is a favorite target because he speaks truth. The same truth that terrifies the other side, scares this equally timid axis. Their spiel is that of government handouts, free everything.

When We Pull Back The Curtain On 250 Years

As we celebrate 250 years as a free republic, we do so with clear vision. Bad things happened along the way. Really bad things. That past evil took us to higher ground. Not yet the pinnacle, but higher than before.

Those of us in the middle have the big responsibility. That's been the same for 250 years. The folks in the middle pull back the curtain, recognize the facts and do the work. Our nation, our melting pot is blessed with so many who will do more amazing things. Their stories will also scare both sides of the timid extremists.

We borrowed the metaphor of pulling back the curtain from "The Wizard of Oz." Let's also borrow the part where the wicked witch dissolved into watery waste. All that bigotry, all that socialist nonsense of paying people to do nothing, of allowing the government to "take care of them" will dissolve when we pull back the curtain and call out the deception.

It always falls to the folks in the middle. The ones who think clearly, listen better, remain calm, and don't pander to fear and corruption. The optimistic middle. America thrives on the strength of the optimistic middle.
